Brace yourself for an official LPs rubbing test coming to an USATT-sanctioned tourney near you! LOL

(The tester can lick my pimples to see if they are sticky or slippery...)

Swaythling Club International, the group that oversees the World Veterans Championships, held their own AGM last Thursday in Paris. At the meeting SCI President for the last 16 years Diane Schöler announced she's not running for re-election. After a vote, the new SCI President is her husband Eberhard Schöler. This is not good news for LP players playing in the WVC in New Zealand next year as Ebi is pretty much the world's #1 hater of LPs and those who use them.

----------------------

As usual, very little information coming out of the ITTF's highly nontransparent AGM and BoD meetings. What little we do know is Kagin Lee weaseled his way onto the ITTF Equipment Committee as a "corresponding member" and Koji Kimura's scientifically unsound "bounce test" to determine whether rubbers were treated by bounce height was tabled until a test period has been completed.

Interesting that in the 2009 ITTF presidential election there were 153 votes cast but in the 2013 election there were 202 total votes. I seriously wonder if Adham or his company TMS bankrolled 50 extra banana republic TT associations to come in in exchange for their vote?

It would also really be interesting to see what 53 associations voted for Bosi.

There are players from 126 nations competing in the world championships, meaning there are 74 associations present in Paris with zero notable players that can cancel out China's vote.

* * *

Lol As expected we have an all-China semi-final for both men and women. There is absolutely no suspense in any ITTF tournament where the full Chinese team is competing. It's almost always an all-Chinese affair from the semi-finals on. That's real domination folks.

More words of wisdom from Coach Tao Li

No, the 'Ooh, Aah Guy' is named John Burgess.

Turned the interview off after 2 and a half minutes. :n: Only advantage is that I know now the face of the one who said het get back to me with the info about the rubbers of Joo Se Hyuk (when it wasn't known what he was using, Hungarian Open 2012). He supposedly had an interview with Joo the day after. Never heard the info from him, even after asking it again and again.

Is that the same guy as the "Ooh Aah" commentor?

CHINESE DOMINATION CONTINUES

As usual, another all-Chinese quarterfinal in the women at the ITTF world TT championships. I wouldn't have minded if Wu Yang or Hu Limei were among them, but unfortunately the equipment advantage for attackers is too much for defenders to overcome.

Still a lot of matches to play for the men. I'm sure Xu Xin beats Matsudaira and Zhang Kike beats Baum in the round of eight, so Timo Boll against Ma Long is the rest of the world's only hope of breaking up an all-Chinese mens semifinal.

=====================

Normally I don't care about doubles, but it was an interesting matchup between North Korea and South Korea in the mixed doubles final. North Korea won.

=====================

Haven't seen any news from the ITTF's BoD meeting this week. This is were all the bad stuff is usually backdoored into effect on unsuspecting national associations.

=====================

If Kagin Lee was officiating any of Fabian Akerstrom's matches, I wonder if we broke out his little friction rub test for Fabian's pips.

=====================

Somebody ought to ask the Korean TT Association about how dropping Joo Se Hyuk, Ryu Seung Min and Oh Sang Eun from the national team worked out for them.

=====================

No male defender even made it as far as the final 32.

=====================

This fake interview between Adham and his paid ITTF shill Ian Marshall is sickening.

Amelie is probably not allowed, because of her recent change of nationality.

Bonaire was confirmed as the ITTF's 218th National Table Tennis National Association, which leaves table tennis just two associations behind volleyball. Quick! Name a table tennis player from Bonaire. Name ANYONE from Bonaire.

I know a tiny Caribbean island with 16,000 people and maybe ten players that is about to get a lot of free equipment from the ITTF. Take that volleyball!

================

ITTFchannel is trying to compete with the normal YouTube table tennis highlight compilers…and losing.

================

Unfortunately Liu Song lost to Patrick Franziska 4-2, and Fabian Akerstrom lost 4-0 to Zhang Jike. Amelie Solja wasn't invited to the party despite a high world ranking.

================

Really would like to see the second round match between He Zhi Wen and Chen Weixing. No itTV however. One that will be streamed is Ding Ning vs. Hu Limei who seems to have her number. That should be good.

Just 48 hours until the election for ITTF President. However even if Bosi's corruption allegations are true, we all know that the election is rigged and Adham wins easy.

Let's see if there is any kind of investigation into Adham's dealings. Maybe by this time next year he'll be sitting in a jail cell. :rock:

=============================

Won't be so easy for Chtchetinine this week on Challenger Series. One of the other competitors is Ryu Seung Min. Neither are competing at the ITTF world championship in Paris.
